musing no. 1: reading

I’ve realized something interesting. You’ll always find a niche if you read. I mean, with regard to people. You’ll always have friends if you read. People who read like to recommend books they’ve enjoyed. Conversation topic. And they like to share book lists and talk about what books they might want to read. I’ve had many a conversation merely on books, which book we liked best, which book was mere melodramatic nonsense, which book was thought-provoking.

Of course, if you’re a teenager, there’ll be tons of pseudo-intellectuals out there who touch on classic literature and recommend it like crazy. It makes for interesting conversation fodder. I recommend it.
